January, 2026 Staunton City Hall Downtown Display: "It's a Wonderful Life In Staunton", featuring the Local History of Black Churches

February, 2026 Staunton Public Library Display: History of Women in Hats

Black History Month Fundraiser in February, 2026: raising funds to install historical markers for three black churches founded between 1885-1889. Our goal is $4,000.

Last appeal for donations in February: Sending letters requesting donations, as we are on our last phase for repairing the Shea House (Plumbing and sheetrock). We will end with a fundraiser in March.

Soul Bake Sale at the Augusta Street Church on March 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Dedication of the three black churches: TBA in Spring, 2026

Celebrating the complete restoration of the Shea House: TBA in June

Update on the Shea House: We are on our last phase, the deadline being March 2026, for the Shea House, which includes new plumbing and sheet-rock. The house has most recently been painted (see Local Events Rotation). We have not received any grant money.
